About HYPERCON

Upcycling of mineral materials and raw materials

HYPERCON is based on innovative ideas and great adaptability to individual requirements, combined with in-depth knowledge of the circular economy. Our goal is to develop innovative products from waste and previously unused waste materials that inspire potential customers with their design and functionality.

Upcycling of mineral materials and raw materials

HYPERCON creates new sources of revenue for suppliers of primary raw materials by turning previously unsaleable or hard-to-sell products into new, high-quality raw materials for the building materials industry, which is a basic prerequisite for higher profit margins as well as cutting disposal costs.

HYPERCON technology starts by determining the chemical constituents of mineral raw materials. In combination with new technologies developed to make the components usable, this opens up new and better possibilities in the production of building materials.

For HYPERCON raw material partners, this results in a direct expansion of the product range, while simultaneously boosting sales, and the implementation of HYPERCON technology also enables them to activate used concrete for reuse and upcycling, making it suitable for use in ready-mixed concrete, concrete products and precast concrete elements.

Higher recovery rates and reduced storage or disposal costs can be combined with higher quality material utilisation. HYPERCON eliminates the disposal and downcycling of usable materials.

Why opt for HYPERCON upcycling solutions?

At over 60 %, Germany has a relatively high recycling rate when compared to other European countries, but at the same time this means that well over 30 % of all waste ends up in incineration plants or landfill sites. Most of the recycling in the building industry involves downcycling, as recycling companies simply do not have suitable applications for all waste materials.

If we look at organic, fair trade and vegetarian products as comparable trends, we have seen strong growth rates in recent years. This shows how important caring for our natural resources is to customers.

Implementing technological solutions in the upcycling market calls for a pioneering spirit, but it is important to seize the opportunity and actively shape the market and its conditions. The economic prospects provide a great incentive for companies in the building industry to take a new direction.

How practical is upcycling with HYPERCON?

HYPERCON provides a wide range of impressive uses for unused raw materials. There are virtually no limits to entrepreneurial creativity when it comes to upcycling. Scarcity of natural resources, which will continue to increase in the decades ahead, will inevitably lead to a pragmatic use of unused or underused primary and secondary raw materials. HYPERCON applications permit sophisticated product design, visible individuality and, above all, convincing functionality – and upcycled products become bestsellers. So, with HYPERCON solutions, we not only offer customers sustainable, functional and appealing products, but also significant economic benefits.

HYPERCON relies on tried-and-tested technology and partners

Minerali Industriali

The vision of what is now possible in the refinement of raw materials for new applications in the concrete and ceramics industry was born in 2017 in collaboration with our current partner Minerali Industriali S.r.l.

The independently run Italian family business has 27 production facilities on 5 continents and has operations in 33 countries. In 2021, the company produced more than 3.5 million tonnes of raw materials.

Minerali Industriali is involved in the following areas:

  • Extraction, processing and marketing of raw materials such as sand, feldspar, clays and kaolin for the glass, ceramics, sanitary ware and paint industries.
  • Production of innovative products for the sports and leisure industry
  • Recycling of non-hazardous industrial waste (circular economy)
  • Geological and mining exploration
  • Planning and construction of machines and plants for quarries, mining and the recycling industry.

Ongoing cooperation with institutions such as engineering colleges and universities creates a high level of technological flexibility in the processing of raw materials, making it possible to develop and offer tailor-made products. HYPERCON, and in particular our partner Minerali Industriali, are exploring the use of new raw materials in our customers’ industrial cycles and provide them with the technological support that is critically important.
